Pushups… the best exercise ever!

I will admit that at the start of P90X, the pushups were my least favorite exercise. They were hard to do, I couldn’t do many on my toes and had to go to my knees… in a way I felt a little like a failure. But low and behold… I pushed myself each week, set goals (and usually surpassed them) and now can do an amazing amount of pushups! And what a GREAT exercise! It works so many different areas… I feel it not only in my chest, but in my back, my abs… my overall core! The best part? You don’t need anything but your body weight… unless you want to involve your kids and add some extra weight like this picture!

Another plus? Whether you stick with another round of P90X, or choose to pursue another program (like Turbofire or Insanity) you’re already a step ahead in your strength and fitness level. And… it’s portable! If you travel and don’t have any place to workout… pushups, situps, leg squats, jumping jacks and running in place can be done any where! What a bonus!

So, set a goal… and do some pushups… and if you’re doing P90x or any other Beachbody program… push yourself, dig deeper… you’ll love the results when you do!
